    Hi there,
Has any one any experiences of "All inclusive" packages to the likes of Canaries? I'm considering doing a week mid March with other half and looking for some suggestions...Looking for bit of sun / R&R and not too much hassle getting there. Interested in 4 or 5 star hotels. If anyone knows best sites and hotels that they have experience of, please let me know. I've heard good reports on some resorts but dont have any exact locations / resort names etc.
btw, not tied to Canaries. Open to other locations also!!
    Thx in advance

Try here on Direct Holidays http://www.directholidays.ie/ key in all Inclusive holidays... check out the hotel you fancy... then key the Hotel name in to tripadvisor http://www.tripadvisor.ie/ and get travel reviews of the Hotel...

    Book it and Enjoy !!

I have been on an all inclusive in Costa Teguise on Lanzarote and didn't find the food great. As I had booked a late deal for a great price I didn't feel too bad about it but decided if going on one again that it would have to be at least a four star property.

I have been to Lanzarote many times and am going again soon on an all inclusive.
I have decided to stay at the 'Rubicon Palace' in Playa Blanca and at 'La Geria' in Puerta Del Carmen so will be able to give more direct advice about those two in a couple of weeks. Had also considered 'Los Jameos Playa' which gets consistent reviews.

There are some interesting and cheap restaurants in PDC which you would miss out on if you go all inclusive. With pints of local beer easy to find at about €2 you may find that unless you get a very good deal you would probably be better off booking self catering.

The only reason that I'm going all inclusive this time is that I'm using some spare points from a hotel program that I'm in and this will give me better points value than B&B only. If it wasn't for that I would certainly go self catering.

Thx for that. Im aware that the all inclusive thing might be a bit of a fad, also aware that id be in danger of coming home 2 stone heavier than when i left1 I'll do some more digging and decide Self catering might be the way to go. Thanks again

Most of the good restaurants in PDC are towards the old town so I would be inclined to look for accommodation there, although taxis are cheap, €3/4 will get you from one end of the resort to the other so you needn't worry too much about location. That is apart from the places up on coronary hill which is above the old town.
The cheapest deal for flights in March are out of Shannon for about €160 return. Apartments can be had from €25 a night.

Just back from Tenerife and booked all inclusive on Alpharooms for €200 each. The resort was Alborada and while it was in need of a lick of paint and the restaurant was like a Butlins I found the food more than tolerable. There was always plenty of choice - fruit, salad, soup, meat, fish and pasta dish at each meal with wine, soft drinks and beer on tap.

The beer was Amstel, soft drinks were all Coca Cola products and while the spirits were all local and a bit harsh they were drinkable.

The pool was superb - salt water, almost the size of a football pitch with plenty of sun loungers, it was right on the water and the pool bar had the same range of drinks from 10am-11pm each day!

Will head back there again - very happy!

Am looking for the exact same. Have a fear of ending up in Playa del Ingles in a resort full of roudy 20 yr olds, so would love to hear if you or anyone has any insight on where's good.
