    Hi All,

I've been looking for a reliable, confortable and sporty/interesting diesel for my 190km daily commute. I'm looking at a 2004 Mondeo 2.2Tdci with 84000 miles on the clock and selling for just under 7K, it's taxed, NCT'd and well maintained.

Any thoughts on whether this car fits the bill?

    Many thanks.

Seems overpriced to me actually. Be wary that at that mileage you may have to budget in for the cost of a new clutch and flywheel in the near future if it has not already been replaced.

Yes, tax will be higher than a 2 litre, but a good buy nonetheless.

Items to look out for on a tdci mondeo is the flywheel rattling away in it, rear subframe bushes, rear caliper isssues, handbrake cables seizing, injector issues etc......same as any modern diesel to be fair.

If you're willing to do 2.2L how about an accord?

Lots of miles on this one but could be in a similar price range if you look around - lots more comfort/spec than mondeo IMO

Most of that mileage would be on motorways as she is a ex UK car. I would have it anyday over a Mondeo..
