Just been asked a question about Freeview HD & Freeview+HD boxes numbering the saorview channels -

Will RTE1 RTE2 etc be numbered 1, 2, etc on a freeview box - and if they are odd numbers like 801, 802, etc will all of the NON EXISTANT freeview channels appear in the EPG Guide with "NO INFORMATION AVAILABLE" beside them?

Apologies if im not being clear, i just want to check before i give any advice - i suppose i would have "assumed" that it would be possible to move channels around or at the very least have them appear first in the 8 day epg guide section -

My friend is thinking of having a go on the Technisat HDFV, and id be very interested in seeing the results so hopefully someone can shed some light!

Sic semper tyrannis - thus always to Tyrants

The "Official" Numbering seems to be 100s for TV and 200s for Radio for Saorview.
Most Freeview or Freesat boxes will add non-UK channels in the 800s, not a big deal.

If the box doesn't receive the UK channels it won't list them. It's not like a Sky box trying to sell a subscription.

Many boxes allow user editing of the channels.

Editing the small number of Irish channels compared with UK satellite on a FTA box is trivial. This why A true Freesat box with user Favorites is preferable to Generic FTA box and might be OK for Saorsat if MHEG5 still works on other channels.

I have on my satellite + DTT media PC 4 x Satellites. Sorting that takes a while. On my "shack" satellite receiver there are about 20 to 22 satellites.
