Talks were held late last year between Colonel Gaddafi’s international investment fund and the Irish government over a possible cash injection by Libya into the country’s stricken banks.
Ireland’s National Treasury Management Agency declined to comment but it is understood the Libyan Investment Authority sought the meetings and put the possibility of ploughing money into Irish banks on the agenda

So is this for real or just rubbish. Is Irish government still on speaking terms with Colonel Gaddafi?
We havent revoked his immunity have we?The Libyan Investment Authority sought the meetings and put the possibility of ploughing money into Irish banks on the agenda.
Would it be wrong to take the money if they did?Everyone wants a piece of Irelands bailout why?

Well Libya was an important food export destination, and the likes of Gerry Adams have a long history with Mr. Gadaffi and arms, Ireland is fairly involved in that place..

Why bring Gerry into it at all? Has nothing to do with the question ;)
There is no arms trade between IRA and Gaddafi since peace came about.

This just shows what we all know already, that FF are stupid and have no morals, Libya is unstable, corrupt and a human rights violator, (not a smart move trying to borrow money of these guys).

Thank god they are not in power anymore. :)
