I have notoiced some variability in signal strength of DTT signal during different times of day - usually 90%+ in the evening (as indicated by Signal Information on Samsung TV with built in MPEG4 tuner), but have seen it dropping of to 55% during afternoon ??

I would have assumed signal strength would be fairly constant or could other factors be at play.

I have an indoor ariel in the attic amplified through 4 way splitter/amplifier - could that be a factor ?

thats the way transmitters seem to be. There still in testmode so it should improve when transmitters are turned up

Is the signal drop affecting your TV channels, picture breakup etc or is it just the signal meter reading that's bugging you? External aerial is always better unless you're in a strong signal area.

To answers the questions in sequence

    1. Not noticed weather having major effect
    2. Angled slate roof (45 deg. or thereabouts)

Cush - no doesnt distort picture, just wondering why it would happen
