Labour should lead the Opposition

As the last votes are being counted what "should" happen now? FG "should" form a govt themselves with indos or, if they weren't so toxic, FF. On the other side if Labour think they are in anyway a left wing party they "should" go into the next Dáil as the main opposition party. This would give us a balanced left-right parliament while also relegating ff to a bit part in opposition.

Of course what looks likely to happen is a Labour-FG coalition. Gilmore and old Labour are practically salavating at the chance to get their arses into ministerial cars. Just like the 82-87 coalition it will be awkward and indecisive and will not be effective in fixing our economic woes. It will also allow FF to rebuild and return as the peoples' saviour. Will we ever learn?

Under the party's constitution it has to be put the members. Not sure what the protocol is but I know a lot of members will be against the idea of propping up Thatcher Nua
