    Hi all, just a quick question regarding rent allowence. I am able to claim rent allowance here in Galway but im thinking of moving to Limerick, do i have to re-apply to limerick county council or should covered by Galway City council nationally?

    Sadly you have to start over and reapply; it is not transferable. "should" be but is not. We moved county in August and are still working on it here.

    yep! Apparently Cork where I am now has a usuall time of eight months for processing this. It is the housing list application that takes the time.

    However, I had word only yesterday that at last the Housing Officer will be here today so that may clear the log jam....

    When the approval comes from them, it is up to the CWO and more paperwork of course.
    It has been an... interesting.. winter

    I know; it has been since September here, but we had no choice but to move as the house we were in ( a dive) was wanted by the landlord to live in ( doubtless after massive refurbishment) and there was no where else who would accept RA.
