As the title says, how do i approach supermarkets to stock my electronic product?

With great difficulty. Most of them have centralised purchasing (UK, Germany, etc) and are not keen unless the volumes are huge, the price tiny and the risk (i.e. they will shift them so no novelties) is low.

    Superquinn/Spar/Mace don't really do electronics.
Tesco sell generic own brand electronics they get in China for nothing. No novelties and all selling for below cheap.
Lidl/Aldi - maybe for the specials but all Continentally sourced.

Can't really give advice if we don't know what you are selling. Have you thought about the filling stations - most are "Irish" owned and are willing to punt novel gadgets, esp if Car related but also home related. It would get a foot in the retail chain and much much easier sell than the supermarkets.

I would be making the bulk of my income through a subscription service. The problem would be volume for the supermarkets. Projected sales in year one would be 20,000 units at a cost to distributers of E12 and i would like retail price to be under E30. After that annual sales to remain at 10,000 units.

Supermarkets would be the ideal way to place my product with my target market.

Doing it yourself with credits required etc is not viable.
you need to decide upon the shops you want, go visit informally some managers, and get a feel for who they deem is a good distribution partner.

Then approach the distributor. Be prepared for this to take a month or two with contracts to be signed etc - returns and stock rotation - have a clear idea how you will handle.

Then be prepared to do the sales yourself, but with the distributor doing fulfillment. (And taking his margin of course).

It can be done, but will take a good 3 months from start to finish.
