would like to hear any examples of candidates sinking to any depths to get a few more votes at the expense of their running mate. i recall aine brady and michael fitzpatrick having a few tasty exchanges in 2007 in kildare nth pretty much all stemming from aine movin in on "michael's side of the constituency" . Another guy who's pretty greasy is ff's sean o'fearghaill, back in 2007 a guy supposedly canvassing for his running mate sean power was found to be knockin on doors tellin people power doesnt need your vote he a shoe-in to give o'fearghaill no.1 and this time round he actually posts out letters at the last minute with the bottom line being "power's safe, vote for o'fearghaill" and forges michael martin signature at the end of it.
i'm sure theres bucket loads of examples of this side of politics......

    Frances Fitzgerald in Dublin Mid-West.
Went around on Thursday night and stuck "make sure .... vote Frances number 1" on her own posters but also on the joint FG posters that had her and her running mate Derek Keating on them.
This from a senator no less.

The same O'Dea that plastered the areas near most of the voting spots with his posters, and the same O'Dea that is being reported on the Limerick forum to have left, either himself or through his lackeys, voice messages on people's phones asking them to come out and vote for him.

I am curious to see if people come out and let the media hear those messages and also to check on what day they were left.

If any Limerick politician should avoid making claims about others being dishinest, then it is Willie "oh I forgot I said that" O' Dea.

Oh my good Jesus! O'Dea objecting to dirty tricks and dishonesty during a campaign?

Just how black can the FF kettle get?

Most posters have Vote No 1 for yourself and then mention your running mate.

Not Joe Costello of Labour, Dublin Central. Hasn't been mentioned his running mate either on the doorsteps or any of his literature

Aodhan O'Riordan works in the area but left it to go run in Dublin North Central a few years back.

Joe Costello, he sees running mates as a threat. No dirty tactics here as such but he's not realy doing what he can for the party
People get removed from the front bench by leadership over things like this
