I am still shell-shocked now after what happened me on friday during polling day. I was driving slowly on the rivervalley road in swords beside the school and it was very busy with people going over to vote. there was a white van parked on my left side on the road and this woman holding a baby ran right out in front of me looking in the opposite direction from me and she didn't even look to see was there any traffic passing. luckily for me i jammed on and all was ok. I mean this woman should be in a mental institution for running out onto the road holding her baby without looking. if anyone else was speeding up this road they would have killed both of them. sometimes i wonder is it worth driving at all because even though she was totally in the wrong i would never be able to live if i ran into and hit both baby and woman. some people have no brain in their head while they walk around. it was a damn close call and not a nice feeling at all. some women should have to have a licence just to pass the bloody road.

i'm just wondering has anyone else here had simular close calls with idiot people.

If she was looking in opposite direction, then maybe she was used to right hand traffic.
People make stupid things. They always did. And they always will.

it sure looks that way. thats what i was thinking as to why she was looking in the opposite direction i just hope none of you ever have to deal with a close call like this. you need eyes in the back of your head these days driving.

The (bravely-titled) first post probably belongs in Ranting & Raving rather than here.

    I don't think it's just these days.
You always need to expect unexpectable.

Instead of saying that you would never be able to live anymore if you ran them over, thing of it the way that you just saved their life.

Funny I thought in built up busy areas you`re supposed to keep you speed low, cover the break and be prepared for all movement? but I`m a woman
    sure what would I know.....

    People are stupid.

    This thread is stupid.

8 replies and only two reported posts (one of which was from someone who hasn't posted here).

zenno, get a grip. There's no place in Motors for a blatantly sexist (and barely Motors related) thread like this.

    Thread closed.
