I was told by a letting agent that if the landlord supplys the T.V. They have to supply the licence. If its your T.V. its your problem. Either way it wont be the landlord answering the door to the inspector. So dont answer the door.....

No, the Landlord only hasa to pay if he lives in the house/flat also and watches TV.

The owner of the TV isn't relevant (e.g. under HP the finance company owns it).

When you move you can transfer licence to new address.

    It's Occupier.

You have to pay as you are the occupant.

Unless agreed otherwise, then you pay for the licence.

Anyway, there's a Sticky thread here already for TV licence discussion.

You could ask LL to take it away but they dont have to as it wasnt agreed at the time you signed the lease

Indeed there is, and until people learn to use it, I'm adopting a blanket approach of closing any other TV licence threads that are opened. At one stage there were five threads in this forum with "TV licence" in the topic. The sticky is there, use it!
