Sex Drive and Other Issues

    Hi everyone,

I'm a young adult and I am otherwise happy.

I am going to seek medical advice on this in the next few days but I hope this is ok to post.

For a young male my age I feel my sex drive should be a lot higher than it is. I have little sexual desire anymore really and although I still masturbate, it is more out of habit than anything. I have to stimulate myself a lot in order to build an erection. Erections in general are pretty irregular these days. I wake up every morning without one at present.

Concentration is also a major issue for me. At times I just cannot concentrate in college and if someone is explaining something to me academically or in conversation I can be trying to concentrate but I just kind of space out. I can be walking along with someone and not be paying attention to where I'm going, just going through the motions, following my friends lead.

I also lack assertiveness and am hesitant to make mistakes and go for things. I need a bit more aggression in me in order to stamp my authority on even the most menial things. I can feel so lethargic at times.

I've done a bit of research and these feelings can be symptoms of Hypogonadism, a deficiency of Testosterone. Millions of men suffer from this but there is treatment like gels and patches to cure it. I am just wondering does anyone know if this is common in males this young?

I have been on medication for something else for a good while but am now off it.

Also, has anyone had a test done for this type of deficiency?

I am going to talk with my doctor about this and get a test done.

Any opinions on this would be great, but obviously no medical advice!

Sorry OP, but what you're actually looking for is medical advice. You've self-diagnosed and are now asking for more information on the condition. If you're going to seek medical advice shortly then you should discuss this with your GP, but I'm afraid that nobody here is qualified to tell you what's wrong with you, and consequently giving advice on a condition that you may not actually suffer from is pointless.
