I had a couple of lessons from Barry Power last year. I thought he was very good. I am just looking over the DVD's now in prep for the new season.

First off let me say I have never met or had a lesson off Barry Power.

After looking at his website and checking his EGTF qualification I for one would not pay for a lesson off him.

His qualification is a 1 week course that costs 1,000.00 pounds to do. He says he way an assistant at Slade Valley for four years. Why did he not qualify through that route and not have to fork out to get his EGTF qualification. BTW Slade Valley is in Dublin!!!!

His website is a love in to himself, video of him on TV3 etc. His list of achievements is really not up to much, Junior Cup player, Jimmy Bruen (spelled incorrectly), I could go on.

Go to a PGA Pro if you want lessons.

He would want to be and unreal instructor for the prices he is charging.
€45 for 30 min or €500 for a round of golf, €300 for 9 holes. Madness

    Lads

Been reading boards for a long time but never registered...when I read this tread I had to...

Went to BP two years ago (had a dose of the shanks!), got it sorted but if I had the video set up I could probably have fixed it myself with my basic knowledge of the golf swing.

He's a pleasant guy but I feel if you took away the video he woould be lost...he can pint out swing faults on the screen but I felt he wasn't really able to suggest a fix...he just pulls up videos of the pros and compares them to you....the only time I look like Tiger is.......(not for this thread :D)

If you have the voucher no harm in going but there are much better options if you are looking for some structured tuition!
