Can I be a trainer?

    I have a FETAC advanced certificate in Supervisory Management (Hospitality sector)which I did in DIT Cathal Brugha Street in 2002 one of the components was a Train the Trainer module and now with having lost my job in 2009 after 13 years in the hospitality sector I am wondering would this allow me look for a job as a trainer within the sector? if so is there a register i need to be on if anyone knows anything about this I would really appreciate your help please:)

    It depends which part of the sector you want to go into. The VEC require a degree and a teaching qualification, and you have to be accepted by the Teaching Council. FAS require a teaching qualification higher than the train the trainer one. Some of the private providers may be a possibility, but I don't know what requirements they have, if they are associated with FAS they need the teaching qualification.

    In general there are so many people with qualifications that to get in without is a bit unlikely.
