One of the girls at work told me today she voted for the first time yesterday and it was obvious the excitement about having her say.

I asked her who she voted for. She said she gave her number 1's to ....

Yes, marked "1" next to all her preferences.

I didn't have the heart to tell her she spoiled her vote.

im just back from a count centre where i noticed a few people put a tick next to the all the candidates except one or two....

i don't think they realised they spoiled their vote.

Theres the old story of the ballot paper where a no.1 had been placed beside every candidates name.....
and written at the bottom was "as promised".:)

Apparently a man in Cork North-Central shat on his ballot paper. Needless to say he soiled his vote.

On a serious note, there was one very imaginative person in Kerry south or north (I'm not sure which) who wrote IMF on their ballot paper.

    Classic.

"I told ye all I'd give ye my Number One."

Another dedicated spoiler put a different abusive epithet beside every candidate on a long list: "c@nt", "b@ll@x", "gobsh:te" and so on. Must have had quite a vocabulary of abusive terms.

Declan Ganley boasting on tv last night about putting 0 next to each one, why did he not run himself if he wants to make it so publicly well known about lack of candidates?
