    Looking for advice with seeds.
I can get them to germinate alright, but thats when the problems start. I have very little success when I start to transplant the seedlings to the next stage.
Aubrieta, bizzie lizzies, Delphs, Lupins, and Petunias

They either get too leggy or just stay really small.

    thanks

    ....

difficult to say exactly without knowing more about your methods, as the seeds you are propagating have slightly different needs... so if you are getting them all to germinate, then you are doing well.....the one thing that they will all have in common is that they don,t like "wet feet" so overwatering will result in stunted growth and worst case- rot, likewise irregular watering will also set them back... so pay careful attention to watering habits.

What conditions are they growing in? Leggy plants means too little light so you'll need to work on that. What medium did you pot them on into? Are there enough nutrients in it? Seed compost is not good enough for growing plants. What size were they when you potted them on? Ideally they should have 2 or more sets of true leaves and a healthy little root system going. What size pots are you using? The pots can be too big and the young plants maybe not be able to get water. From a tray or cells of seedlings the next step up for most types would be a 2 or 3 inch cell or pot. Or even a deep tray leaving a couple of inches between the plants is fine. Can you tell us more?

You can also give young plants a balanced liquid feed, but it needs to 1/4 - 1/2 the strength recommended on the bottle for mature plants. A little sup every 1-2 weeks might help.
Cold can also check growth. Have you got them indoors? At this stage they shoud have minimum 12-15 degrees (at night).
When potting on you need to be so careful about not touching the stems, that can damage the plants beyond repair. Always hold the seedling by the leaves. Go slowly and take as much of the roots as you can, keeping as much soil around them as you can. Gently lower them into the hole and press the soil in from around the edges and then backfill the gaps around the sides. The compost should be well wetted and then drained before you transplant into it.
