2k is probable for a specialist endodontist to do the root canal and then a core and then a crown. I dont think your comparing like with like. In that clinic you mentioned you will get whatever general dentist is there and the quality of the job is more uncertain.

You get what you pay for.

Well I am in need of an implant for a missing tooth. In Ireladn I am told 3,5K to 4.5K. The dentist told me that if I went to Northern Ireland or to Europe it is cheaper. So I had a look and enquired. Found who do it in budapest with dentist also in Ireland to check everything and to give after care. Looking more like €2k to get it done.

But my question is does anyone have any experience with getting dentist work abroad? they offer a 10 year warranty but hat is only as good if they are still around in 10 years.

Has anyone any idea about Northern Ireland for this as much easier to drive. I would love to use my money to help the Irish encomony but as thiings are tight - I am getting a loan for this as it is. Is it rip off Ireland here or am I getting something diffrent by travelling?

    Sorry for hijacking this thread...

Andrew use the search function, there are many many many threads on the subject.

Also 2k for a Hungary jobs sound like a lot to me (BTW the promise of after-care in Ireland is a total cod, if its not the dentist who did the work its totally worthless) + 2 xtravel + 2x hotel + 2 xfood. You can get it done in Dublin by specialist implant dentists and surgeons for about that much. As always no names allowed PM's only with names. The offers of warranties is again a total sham.

    I would start here

and see where that takes you. Good luck

davdvn lets wait untill you treatment is complete (seeing as you have only been once so far for a consultation) for a while before lashing out the reccomendations, dental work is a long term investment and only with time will you see if it the bargain you are assuming at the moment.

i am merely offering the guy an opportunity to check out the prices on a web site.
i am not making any recommendations.

You know price now davdvn, in 5-7 years you will know the cost. You are defiantly making a recommendation about friendly staff ect.....always be careful about your recommendations, its easy get excited about a bargain or perceived bargain and want to tell everyone what a smart decision you made and what suckers everyone else is, if something goes wrong will you take responsibility, will boards take responsibility?

I have to say there is great piece of mind going to the same dentist for years. I know it doesn't guarantee good work in all cases but a dentist can really get to know his patients in terms of their teeth and also putting them at ease.

Each to their own though I wouldn't pass comment on the chains as I haven't been to one.
