Has any one here tried variafocal contact lenses? I worn glasses since 15, contacts since 20. Now that I am 40 and a bit I find that it is hard to read instructions on medication and that sort of thing. No real problem with my ordinary lenses for reading the newspaper etc. Optician has suggested I try out varifocal contact lenses and I am wondering what other people have made of them. Optician's other suggestion was to buy over the counter glasses (+1) to use with my usual contact lenses when needed.

We have sold them to only a few people they just seem a little difficult to master. I think the problem is mainly the person trying them not giving themselves enough time to get used to them. It doesn't cost much to try them out. Give them a go. A great motivator for you is that you have to wear the glasses over your contacts for reading otherwise:D

For some people it's hard to get used to, for me it was perfect from day 1! It's really unbelievable how easier everything is compared to bifocals...as endplate wrote, give it a go!
