Failed NCT - what is this ??

Can someone explain this please. Done a google but still unclear.

2002 Mondeo 2l. TDCI 60k on the clock.

    Car failed on two points.

First point: simple/stupid enough. To much oil in it so they wouldn't do an emissions test. This I understand - and why. (silly error by garage, to be sorted.)

However, it also failed on side slip on both axles. The tester mentioned it may be because 3 wheels are buckled. Now, I had the car given a once over before it went in and I have the laser trackng report so it should be ok, or is this something different?

Quite miffed about this, as when it goes for a retest, it still may fail on emissions.

So, gonna go to the autofactors today to get some additive - any recommendations? and also what is sideslip and is it expensive to fix??

    Thanks in advance

Normally it means the tracking is out.

Its a test of what would happen if you left your steering wheel go on a flat road. It should stay straight but in your case its pulling to oneside.

So the laser tracking I got done (which I have the report) is wrong ?

Like to hear this one explained by the garage.

Unlikely to fail on emissions unless you have a really light foot, I'd give it a good lash of welly between now and retest time and worry about the emissions if it fails.
