very ageist and sexist. Since middle-age begins around 35-40, and people need experience in life, I would say thats to be expected.

Nah, no party even attempted to broaden the age profile of their candidates, bring in younger people or diversify from teachers and publicans. If interviewed, not many of the candidates have the relevant competencies to be TDs let alone Ministers.

Most of the new cabinet will have been in government before, talk about shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic.

    Labour: cut 50% tax 50%
    FG: Cut ~75% tax 25%

The compromise: cut 66% tax 33% which is the exact same as what FF propose. Nothing will change.

Thats a bit of a lie. In my own constituencey the Greens and Sinn Fein ran 2 young women. That was broadening their age profile. I am female and consider myself young but didnt vote for either coz of their parties and the fact that I feel they are too young to have enough life experience to be anyway effective.

I voted a new blood middle aged man.

I voted for Shane Ross, age 61. He has more go in him than people half his age.

Puzzled, in that I though we'd need to vote based on national policies that might get us out of this economic mess and not on phyisical attributes?

I voted for Michael Ring, he came into my premises and asked for my vote. The only candidate who canvased me

well would you rather if I voted for Dylan Haskins - the 23 year old young lad with loads of ideas

image a Dáil full of Dylan Haskin's - I think even the most anti-SF/ULAers on here would rather see Gerry Adams running the Dáil to that

My first was a 33yr old male, second 50-55yr old female, third 40yr old male.

Picking a candidate by age is just plain stupid, i voted for who i think i could beat in a game of "connect 4"
