Given the current crop of distance athleted in Ireland, surely there is hope for medals in major championships in the future. Gregan-400m McBearty, English, Patterson, Touhy, Paul Robinson, Travers, Quinn then some of the older guys like McCarty(dave), O' Lionard, O neill. some great talent there like

I wouldn't know much about distance but I believe there is serious potential for Brian Gregan at 400m. I think he has a good chance of medalling in the European Indoors in a few weeks time. I also believe he will better Gillick at some stage and be the Irish 400m record holder.
