Jackie Healy Rae versus Muammar al-Gaddafi

A video posted on YouTube today (in Arabic) shows the crazed murderous autocrat Muammar al-Gaddafi addressing a crowd of his supporters in Green Square, Tripoli.

No harm to our very own Jackie Healy Rae, who I'm sure wouldn't hurt a fly, but I couldn't help noticing some similarities in their style of public speaking.

Basically Gaddafi spends the six minutes saying

Those who don't support Muammar Al Gaddafi don't deserve life
If Muammar Al Gaddafi had no supporters he wouldn't deserve life
He then calls his supporters in the green square as being brave
He tells them to protect Libya and its oil
He gives the typical "Libya is the pinnacle of the third world if not the world" spiel
He goes on about how he's the leader of the revolution (He's speaking of his own 1969 revolution)
He says he's one with the young people

That's the first three minutes in essence

The last three minutes he spends asking people to enjoy themselves and to sing and dance.

He really does have a knack for crazily random speeches alright. He really just isn't the same when you translate what he says into English.

Am I right in saying that Gaddafi also refers to himself in the third person during his speech?

Something JHR is also fond of doing...

Yeah, it's almost a staple feature of his speeches.

Stapling his lips together would be a better feature.
