Im just wondering if a car plastered with slogans "vote for ... ...... No.1" emblazoned across it parked outside a polling station is acceptable, does this count as electioneering outside the polling station, and what type of distance this type of thing should be. It was probably 100m i'd say. I threw them a look and they soon drove off, i'm sure they're excuse would be they had to go in and vote themselves. Should I make a complaint and to whom?

Outside the polling station just off north street in Swords there were Labour posters very very close to the entrance to the polling station, on lamposts. No other party had any as close as that, in fact it was a good 200m to any other parties posters.

I was wondering if this is allowed, and if so why only one party was at it.

I too would like to know what the rules are on this.

If you think someone is engaging in illegal canvassing then notify the officials in the polling station. I'd expect there to be one at the door.

    Report report report.

That said, I would imagine everyone has decided their number one.

I personally made my mind up on number 2, down to 6, while I was standing there.

after leaving my polling station this evening met one of the candidates on the way out who isn't voting in my station. When got to the gate outside the school noticed one of his famous vans, vote number 1 etc, in which he travelled. surely something wrong here!!

Was that his "constituency support vehicle" van or his "mobile advice clinic" one ?

Like the ones he usually drives around in with name and face blazoned all over, often see it when he goes to his constituency clinics. Was a bit inappropiate on the day I felt.

Saw exactly same thing beside my polling station and wish now had rung the Gardai coz to me this is a form of cheating and it really annoyed me. The guy sat in the jeep watching people going in and out.
