00 Ford Focus 5dr Central Locking

    Hi

Have a 00 Focus 5 door and the Central Locking isn't working. I've had a dig about, and checked fuse 63 at the back of the fusebox and its fine. I've also found the module in the drivers footwell, in front of the door beside the pedals.

If I unplug it, and plug it in again, all the solenoids on the doors kick in, and lock the doors, or unlock them, one of the two. However, no central locking works at all regardless if you lock the passenger or drivers door manually.

This morning, we couldn't open the drivers door with the key and had to do it from inside the car. When the car was driven for a few minutes and stopped again, the door wouldn't lock at all with either the key or from inside. I unplugged the module and plugged it in again, and fiddled with the lock and it was able to be locked again.

Anyone know what the cause of this could be? Is it likely to be a faulty drivers door lock? I have a 02 focus for parts and may swap it.

This is what the module looks like, but the other car I have has this one.

    Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks for that plug. I don't have a remote key as of yet, so I need to operate the doors manually with a key, The old focus opened all and closed all on that.

Is there anything in autodata to reset the system or to kick start it again, if you will?

No Hassle. Anyone have any ideas?

Plug, thanks for the help on this. Would you mind posting a screenshot of the drivers door lock and the removal, if its not too much trouble.

    Muchos Gratias

Sometimes central locking will not function properly if there is faulty courtesy light switches. Does the courtesy light come on with all doors?

Just checked. All the door switches are fine and the courtesy light turns off when you close each door.

Crisis over. I replaced the door lock in the drivers side and jobs oxo. All working now. The passenger door won't operate the locking mechanism for the rest of the doors, that's the only thing. Not so worried about that tho.
