Cyprian Brady letters.

    At the last general election Cyprian Brady polled 909 first preference votes and was still elected in the Dublin central constituency.

    FF ran three candidates. Bertie Ahern, Cyprian Brady and Mary Fitzpatrick.

    It came to light that Cyprian Brady and Bertie Ahern had posted letters to constituents to ask them to give him the number 2 instead of Fitzpatrick so that he could get elected.

    He gained a seat at her expense even though she had a far greater showing in terms of first preference votes.

    He has done the same thing again. My old man received a letter from him again

    But Bertie's not running? There are only two FF candidates there, so surely the letter said, "Vote me No. 1 and Fitzpatrick No. 2"?

    I doubt that

    I imagine the letter is asking for votes for him ahead of Fitzpatrick

    i.e. like last time
