Getting a key cut

    Hiya
    Have a 05 mitsubishi lancer - i lost my set of keys so only have one key for it now. i have to get a new key cut, it has an immobiliser on it. do I have to go direct to mitsubishi or does anyone know anywhere that provides this service. mitsubishi seem very expensive..

    any key cutter place can cut you a key but it will only open the doors, wont start it due to the immobiliser. you will need a new key from Mitsibishi i would imagine as the key needs to comed with the transponder in it and then it will need to be mated to your car.

    on BMW's its a series of tuening ignitions on/off, locking/unlocking in a specific order which can be done yourself but most garages should code it for you there and then FOC if you bought the key from them.
