I have purchased a bun shaper (donut) and was planning on using it tomorrow night can anyone tell me if this is difficult to style, I have seen a link on youtube but have asked a friend of mine if she would be able to try styling it - it looks easy enough but just looking for advice to see if anyone has used this and found it easy or hard?

They're amazing ... I have a few of them in different sizes.

The longer your hair the better. There's not really any none way of styling it, depends if you're going for a messy or a sleek style. Just play around with wrapping your hair around it in different ways but you'll need lots and lots of bobby pins!

I have shoulder length hair and I found I had too much hair to wrap around it so I put a bit of hairspray on the pony tail and let it dry a bit then slightly brush it back wards.

Then it puffs up and I need less pins to make it stay in.

I just can't make it work. It just ends up looking messy and lumpy in the worst possible way. I'd say it would work better if you had someone else to help you. Or maybe I just suck at it :p

when you have it on the pony tail, tip your head forward and distribute the hair around the bun shaper.

then, use a thin elastic down over the bun shaper to put the hair in place then pin whats left around the base.
