Attended for an interview two weeks ago. Have now been called for a second interview. Questions at the first round were quite general and included:
    • Summarise your career to date
    • How do you deal with conflict / interpersonal relationships
    • Give an example of an incident when you became upset or emotional about your work
    • Why do you want this position
    • What are the challenges facing the organisation
    • What steps can the organisation take to enhance its position going forward
    • Give a success story or example of an achievement in your current position that you were proud of
    • What's your long term career goal and what steps have you taken to achieve it

It's a pretty senior position and I'm just not sure what to expect from the second round. Anyone any ideas?

I'd imagine it be more competency based questions. For example how you deal with a dilemma, how you approach a situation etc, purhaps be asked tehnical questions in your field, if its IT it be IT related, if its economics it be economics related and so on especially if its business or IT related it be very much technical questions, but other areas but be the same but the technical questions will suit your field what ever it is. They probably want you to meet a certain criteria too in relation to team work, communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness etc.

    Good luck.

Thanks Snuggles, I think you're right. First interview was general stuff, like establishing you're not a complete oddball. All the oddballs eliminated, I think the next one will be about the specifics of whether you're capable of actually doing the job . Cheers.
