emachines , netbooks and laptops whats the difference?

    Sorry for the dumb Questions
    But what is/are the differances between the two/three .
    Look at getting a emachine Intel atom N450 10.1 netbook E350 .
    It's emachine part/name thats confusing me .
    Are emachines and Netbooks basically the same.
    Can you play Dvds on emachines and can you run a printer of it.

    netbooks generally dont come with cd/dvd drives

    emachine is just a brand of netbook or laptop

    emachines is a brand name. They usually sell the low end of laptops.

    A netbook is essentially a small laptop with a 10" screen. It's a category of laptop.

    And i think you know what a laptop is!

    Tonnes of manufacturers make netbooks, no need to stick with emachines. They do not have dvd drives. You can watch movies on them, but not DVDs, or any discs for that matter.

    What a weird comment to make. I used my netbook as a primary machine for months. I used it for a lot more than just messing about on.

    just a generalism as to what there usage is for, the guy said he didnt know much about them...

    I see tablets in Maplins for about 170,are these a smaller notebook?.

    Notebook = laptop. Two different words for the same thing

    No they are not. They are rubbish imo. They will not be able to do anything half as well as a netbook.
