A Texas college student, who authorities said Thursday posed an “imminent” threat, was arrested in a bomb plot targeting former President George W. Bush, nuclear plants and even New York City.
Khalid Aldawsari, 20, who reportedly studied chemical engineering and bought explosive chemicals online, was arrested Wednesday on charges of attempted use of weapons of mass destruction and was expected to appear in court Friday. He faces life in prison.
"After mastering the English language, learning how to build explosives and continuous planning to target the infidel Americans, it is time for Jihad,” Aldawsari wrote in a journal FBI agents seized from his home this month, according to court papers.

Or perhaps he was just doing research for a book he planned to write although buying the chemicals probably a bad move

Is he trying to become the new Chemical Ali or something?

At least the FBI acted in time before he did serious damage, I mean blowing up a Nuclear plant, not killing George Bush

Faces life in prison? Jaysus, they'd want to have a fair amount of evidence that he was actually planning something rather than just an entry he made in his journal.

It'd make you wonder what caused them to search his house in the first place..

    Sounds Muslim - check
    Interest in chemistry - check

The irony is that he was just trying to rid the world of it's biggest weapon of mass destruction.

There's only one reason you use old tech: you don't care if you don't get it back. And you usually use it if you want them to find it.

If he's guilty, I hope he's made to squeal like a pig in prison, every day.
