*Pope Dinero nailed Samoa Joe with a foreign object to score the pin.

*TNA Knockouts champion Madison Rayne cut a promo challenging any Knockout past or present to face her. Out comes Roxxi. Rayne defeats her. No one in NC seemed to know who Roxxi was. Mickie James made the save.

*Angelina from Jersey Shore, Sarita and Cookie defeated Velvet Sky, Winter and Angelina Love. Angelina was exactly what you would expect from someone working their first match.

*Ink Inc. defeated Generation Me. Beer Money did commentary.

*New TNA champion Sting comes out and cuts a promo, saying that it's no secret he had other offers, but he is loyal to TNA as they are his brand. He starts getting emotional and says that he respects Jeff Hardy but Hardy made the wrong choices. Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff come out and they go back and forth on WCW and their past. Mr. Anderson comes out and demands his title rematch. Jeff Hardy comes out and says that if anyone is getting a rematch, it's him. This brings out RVD, who says that he wants his shot at the title. Hogan announces Sting vs. Jeff Hardy will be the main event of Victory Road. Hogan and Bischoff set up a tag team main event.

*Matt Hardy defeated AJ Styles in a good brawl. Ric Flair managed Hardy and this was North Carolina, so guess who the babyfaces were?

*TNA champion Sting and RVD defeated Jeff Hardy and Mr. Anderson. It was OK but the entire time, I kept thinking that it made no sense that any of these guys wanted to team with the other.

    The show was OK.

Very good impact this week. They have been solid enough for the last few weeks and hopefully they can keep it on the road because the fans at the Impact Zone are awful. I was relieved that the matches for Victory Road were announced too. Looks a very strong card as well with the exception of Tommy Dreamer V Bully Ray.

This week's edition of TNA iMPACT! drew a 1.25 (1.3) cable rating, with 1,738,000 viewers. More shortly.

-- In comparison to WWE, this week's edition of WWE Superstars drew a 0.5 rating, with 500,000 viewers. The Superstars replay did a 0.17 (0.2) rating, with 149,000 viewers.

what ratings does Smackdown pull in nowadays? (think that might be a better comparison)

Another decent Impact, nothing special but they set up the PPV nicely.

What was that Rudos promo at the beginning with the Mexican mask? Wonder if it's TNA's equivalent of Sin Cara.

Decent impact. I really like the big arena vibe.

ha ha ha, you dirty pirate! Rudos is an encoders group. (*Rudos is also the mexican word for heel)

Does it annoy anyone else that 7/8 matches on the PPV were only announced 3 days before the PPV?

I thought it was the debut of a new Mexican wrestler, I was pretty impressed with the visual and music lol.

No it doesn't really bother me that the matches were only announced 3 days before the PPV.

With the exception of the WHC match (plans probably changed due to Sting returning) and the X-Division match (re-match of last month because GEN-ME missed their flights), most of the matches are stemming from feuds that have been building for a few weeks anyway, so it's not liked they were all randomly booked at the last minute.

If people watched Impact on Thursday night and they liked the show, then they are more inclined to purchase the PPV anyway. It shouldn't matter if it's only 3 days away as I would guess most people order PPV's only 1 or 2 days before the event anyway.

lol yeah i thought the graphics and presentation was far too good for TNA :p makes me think that TNA/ROH etc should invest in college kids/amateurs for graphics etc on the cheap.

I'd be with ya here in Ireland/UK/Europe where people don't have to pay for it (and so it's more like a long impact, just another TV show), but I can't imagine that many people would plonk down $35 on 3 days notice! Ya ~95% of PPVs are bought in the last week but they'd already have to really want to see the matches. Thursday is far too late! But it makes little difference to us who'd probably watch it because it's free either way.

It's like Goldberg/Hogan in Atlanta, they did 40,000 in just a few days notice but they could've filled the arena/gotten a monster buyrate had it been on PPV or hyped it for a few weeks!

If they put Goldberg/Hogan on PPV it would've done a monster buyrate anyway even if it were on three days notice. Judging by last night it appears TNA didn't want people to buy this show.
