according to an article in irishcentral.com we seem to depend on Libya for 23% of our Oil imports!!

This will take place in Castlebar, not Ballina. my oversight

Meeting to discuss €400bn oil and gas off the West coast

The county town will host a meeting on Monday next, February 28, which will shed some light on the ownership of Ireland’s vast natural resources.

It is estimated that there is oil and gas valued at up to •€400 billion off the West coast but changes in legislation by disgraced former minister Ray Burke means the Irish people will gain nothing from a potential massive windfall. The State’s ownership has been reduced from 50 per cent to zero while the tax on profits from the sale of natural resources was slashed by former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern from 50 per cent to 25 per cent. If the State was to receive a windfall from the natural resources it would go a long way towards alleviating the cost of the bank bailout.

Next Monday’s educational talk in the Welcome Inn Hotel is being organised by a local group called ‘RealityIreland.com’. Speakers on the night include ex-oilfield executive turned film producer and lecturer, Ian R Crane, and Dave Derby, the editor of the Sovereign Independentnewspaper.

The event commences at 7.30pm and attendees are asked to make a donation of €5 at the door.

This link should also whet the appetite for Castlebar:

    It's south for me.

Anyhow, there's a very good film out called "The Pipe" about the Corrib Gas controversy. Well worth a look if you can find it anywhere.

    It's in Castlebar, not Ballina.

    It's in Mayo, not Dublin.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.
