    Can you give more details.

I connected ot to my phone via FTP.

Can you connect on a laptop external to your network.

I think we need more information.

I have Western Digital my world book as the nas on my network. I set it up and tried to connect using my eircom Zykel router . I could not get devices to connect to each other , I then set up the network using the eircom netopia router. Everything connected fine. From the very little i know about networks it all seems to come down to the settings on the router not the individual devices that you try to connect.I would suggest going through your router settings and checking the obvious such as fire wall and ports allowances.
