Fairly poor spec. But i dunno the average price of a touch screen PC because iv never seen one before.

I wouldn't get one. Touch screens on desktops are a complete gimmick imo. I honestly can't see any real use for it all. You're still paying a premium for the touch element. I just wouldn't be sold on it.

Yeah, and you've to remember as well that you are getting laptop internals in something like this,. The processor and graphics card(Tbh,you'd easier find this graphics card in a netbook!) all came from a laptop

Plenty bang for buck for the vast majority of punters.

Like the OP I know little enough about computers but I guess if you were willing to pay over 700 last week you'd be well pleased to get it for a little under 500 this week, nice bargain.

I only use my computer for the internet and word so when I saw this I thought 'dam I spent more on my desktop AND it has a smaller hdd and isn't a touch screen'. :p

That's an in-depth as I think about computers.

(really need to do a course or something I'm probably losing money in the long run)

You could just buy a new hard drive rather than spend that on a touch screen laptop

if you need touch screen (for whatever reason, and you don't care about the processing side of things) then this isn't a bad deal.... but if you're looking for an iPad, then buy an iPad!

Same here, if I had a choice I'd go for the iPad.

Damn you apple fans. With your "iPad". Buy a REAL man's device. If you choose from a number of new Android devices that are going to be running Android 3.0, you'd be buying your freedom ;)

Do yourself a favour, if you want an iPad, buy an Android device :D

NOTE: I am yanking your collective crank, don't be too upset :pac:

There seem to be a million & one androids out there at the moment - what's the best under the price of an iPad ?

People seem to be very attracted to these all in one touchscreen PC's. If you've ever used one, you find yourself using a mouse about 5 minutes later. Not to mention no upgradability and underpowered components.

Advent Vega in PC World for €299.

Twice the processing cores, RAM and graphical power of the iPad, plus it has neat features like MicroSD card slot and HDMI.

It runs android 2.2 which apparently is awful on a tablet.

The ipad is the only reasonably priced tablet on the market. The current android 3.0 equivalents are wayyyy too expensive
