During the good oul days I used to put a lot of projects out to tender.

It is standard practice to send an acknowledgement of the tender and to inform all the tenders whether they are successful or not.

I would give a quick call, ask to speak to the project manager and ask have they recieved the tender and when they will be making a decision.

Ive allready rang the housing manager and secretary told me theyd ring back[nothing].Rather frustrating really as i feel ive put in a ultra competive quote, still your bit about standard practice replys seems right. Can i ask you are delays in replying after tenders close common.

I wouldn't say common. Sometimes if a lot of projects on and you are replying to a number of tenders some tender may fall between the cracks. But tbh there are hardly a lot of projects going on in this climate.

I wouldn't like to say what other reason there maybe but I think you suspect it already.

I feel you might be suggesting that the tendering process is sown up in some way,not alot i can do about that.

Hi,my company did the same recently, met the owners, agreed to what they wanted, gave them a brilliant price, business partner flew in twice from UK to meet them, and found out later that another company got it,no written explanation, and the other company gave them less than what we proposed,i rang them, all they said is 'thats the way'

most times the management company have an intrest in the company that they select and the tendering excerise is just an exercise.

I dont suffer from being shy and have rang them back asking what the position is now and was told that the head man wont be back for ten days when a decision will be made,i can only take them at there word.
