Job question / should I call?

I had a job interview last week and all seemed to go well. I was asked the following day to provide details for 2 referees, which I did. The person said on Monday they would call them. I've yet to hear anything back. I'm just wondering should I call them to find out? Is it too soon to call?

Call your referees first to find out when they were contacted & how it went....
