Ok so i was wondering what sneaky tricks employed by parties during the election?

I seen this one that i've attached after searching for labour party in google.

To make this fair though please don't make this all about one party make it clean and dair (don't lower ourselves to their levels)

to make it fair i'm also gonna add that labour facebook page seems to have comments by others filtered out by default so you have to click the arrow to see them. small but you know!

I got a phone poll asking me if I'd vote for labour then asking me directly after if I knew about Labour's abortion policies, and how I'd vote if Labour decided to give everyone abortions.

I don't want an abortion at all at all, that would be awful.

Pro choice however is a good thing.

I noticed last night new posters belonging to Richard Boyd-Barrett and some independents in my area and Fianna Gael and Fianna Fail posters missing. I also seen today a cache of Fianna Fail posters thrown into bushes.

I also think it was a tactic for campaigners to exploit boards.ie to push their message.

Surely you mean allow everyone the right to have an abortion. It isn't as if Labour want to go around with an "Abortions for all" stance.

No, their stance was 'Abortions for some, miniature Irish flags for others'

I had a Labour party rep for their candidate called to the door, he wore a SIPTU badge incidentally.

I asked him for Labours policies on public spending, his answer was evasive, so i picked an easier one, i asked him does he think his man will get elected in South roscommon, as its very much a FG strong hold with all the culchies and there has never been a Lab TD elected before. He acknowledged that it would be hard but it that Gilmore was embracing the farming community...

At this point i lol'd - I replied is this the same Gilmore that stated in the early 80's that "Farmers and Businessmen would be the ruination of this country"?

He stared at me blankly. Leopard - spots i said to him.

    I wished him well.

    He left.

I went to a party where everyone attending was instructed to hide, then when the guest of honour arrived we were to jump out and yell "Surprise!" Granny never saw it coming, they told her all kinds of sneaky lies so she wouldn't find out. Lying to a little old lady, shameful. :(

That was a great ""Welcome home from your heart surgery" party though.

    Coathangers through the letterbox.

What the poll said was I aware of Labours abortion stance, and would I be more likely to vote for them if I knew they were going to provide abortions (a) where the mother was in danger (b) in any circumstance.

It seemed odd to tie it so directly to labour, I wasn't aware that abortion was an issue this election until that article from the prolife dude made the papers.

Slightly off-topic, but what are the various parties stances on abortion?

I know Labour seem to be pro-choice. FF have avoided legislating for a number of years imo (particularly re: embryos created for couples having difficulty conceiving naturally - sorry, I can't remember the name of the case).

I just spent a while researching SFs stance, and, as far as I can work out, they are in favour of a woman having the choice in cases of rape, incest, or mental health issues, or where there is a risk to the mothers life.

For some reason , I think FG are pro-choice, though I stand ready to be corrected on that.

Does anyone know the official party policy for the various parties?
