Interesting programme - the presenter (Dr Alice Roberts) interviews various 'stakeholders' on the metal-detecting scene in Britain and then comes to the NMI in Dublin to interview Eamonn Kelly about the situation in Ireland. The basic premise of the programme is that new detectors can 'see' deeper than was possible before and so the potential for damage to archaeological strata is even greater now. She suggests a debate is needed in Britain...
