Its so hard to know what is good value in the android tab market at the mo. My baseline for clones is a capacative screen - resistive is just a nightmare to use. This model has capacitive, a dual core tegra chip (though presumably not the same chip as current honeycomb tabs) and 512MB RAM. Feck all storage, you'd need to add an SD card presumably.

All in all though, compared to maybe €600 for a Xoom, this could be ideal for someone looking to do some basic browsing/mailing. It looks pretty snappy in this vid (though running a custom ROM it looks like...)

Apparently there are clones of this, so this mightn't be the cheapest available. So tempted to try it! Would love to see a honeycomb rom on there...

(just double checked the chip and it is defintely an A9 dual core baby. The main difference between this and the soon to be released honeycomb tabs would appear to be memory, with the HC's having 1GB)

Looks decent enough alright but cheaper tablets (from what I've seen anyway) tend to be pretty troublesome and do you want to be dealing with komplett with a troublesome device?

Still OP, thanks for the post, I didn't mean this post to knock yours.

Isn't this just the same as the advent vega. Just a different badge?? Yep I'm 99 percent sure it is. Advent vega is sold by DSG group only. The vega has some great reviews.

Ah yes! It is indeed the Vega :D I called into Currys/PC World numberous times pre xmas to try and get a look at one to no avail. Looks like the Vega is €299 retail here so that is definitely the better deal (if for no other reason than you can return it to the shop).

The Vega got it's flash approval last week and will hopefully be getting an official gingerbread update soon. I wouldn't be holding my breath for a HC update but there should be some custom roms available soon enough.

As a hobbyist device (which this is as it will probably never have official app access), one of the key criteria is a large user base to encourage custom roms - this one looks ideal as there are clones of it available around the world.

So - sorry for the bum steer, this is indeed a Vega clone, the main Vega related discussion on here is at...
