I'd appreciate advice here as no one else seems to know. I live between Navan and Drogheda and have what appears to be clear line of sight to coast. If I were to buy Freeview Hd box (mpeg4), have I any chance of picking up UK digital in addition to saorview? Is there any way of finding out short of risking a box. Any advice appreciated. Thank you

You wouldn't pick up anything from Britain except with good weather conditions. If you have a good view to the north too without Mt. Oriel etc in the way then you may pick up freeview from Northern Ireland next year.

Thank you for the info. I never realised dtt could be effected by weather. Guess you've saved me a few quid

i live between navan and drogheda too and on my sony Bravia i pick up the DTT from the north and the saorview. however i only pick up about 10 uk channels and will have to wait till they switch off analogue until they boost the signal and then i will pick up the rest ( hopefully )
