That is wonderful. The attention to detail and the work that must have gone into it.

They even have the LH retro A321 (2.30) and the appropriate touch down tire marks on the runway!

It's from Minatur Wunderland here in Hamburg, the most awesome model display I've ever seen and seriously worth a visit. You could easily spend a day in there and the attention to detail is mesmeric and the place is huge. There network cabinet is in a glass display on view and their monitoring room is opened to look in. It's similar to room you see when they are interviewing someone from CCTV operations in London, big screens with stats and cameras of what is happening on the floor. Best to pre-book tickets if you ever decide to go, especially for Saturdays

You should see the 'behind the scenes' video.

I mean, holy crap, the terminals' information screens update every time an airplane lands.

    whaeey!

concorde will fly again (all going well)

the whole thing is not finished, it should be opened at the begining of May.

forward to 5 min 30 secs and see how they get the models to fly. Well.. He shows you how they calibrate the taxiing and then finding of the plane by the catapult system.
(helps if you know german to follow it properly i suppose)

    crazy stuff!!

goto 9min 20sec and watch the bit just after!

I am getting a headache just thinking of the coding behind the control software involved.
They do as much as possible to get the take off looking as realistic as possible, and for each plane it has to be done manually.

Theres a nice shot of the proper departures board too as the camera pans.

I'll have to get back to see the airport display.
My mrs thought i was soft in the head to visit the place last year to see some "toy trains" but its bonkers what they have done there! She was converted!!

Anyhow, true to reality this week theres a train strike, so what will you find in the mini wonderland???
