What is AIML? How do you use it?

    I've been googling all over the place but I can't find a site to explain what AIML (Artificial Intelligence Markup Language) is or how to use it. My computer literacy only extends so far; best I can tell it just seems like a new way of creating signatures. Any help would be appreciated. :)
