Apologies if this is in the wrong forum but i have a query.
I have a 40 ft refrigerated trailer i bought a few years ago to store furniture and materials in when i was building my house. It is a wreck and it certainly won't be going back on the road.
I was thinking of scrapping it and locally the rate is 120e a tonne for scrap metal. But how the hell do i get it there and how heavy is it in the first place to see if its worth while paying a lorry driver to drive it out there.
    Any idea's?
apologies again if i'm in the wrong section and feel free to move.(mods)

You probably won't get a Truck driver to pull an obviously ratty looking trailer without a DOE test on it, the only other way to move it would be on a lowloader(v-expensive), your other option would be to get a scrap merchant to come and cut it up in situ.

The price quoted would depend on the quality of the scrap delivered to the scrap yard, it is doubtful if you would get 120T in it's current state, that is the fridge part is worth much less than the chassis, also most yards would ask for heavy scrap to be in lengths of 2mt or less, much easier to load for export, your best bet would be to cut it up the get the maximum value, or sell as a job lot to a dealer, who would in turn get a better price of the yard than the guy on the street, he is well placed to both cut and collect the lot..........

would there be much weight in it. everything is still on it. apparently if i put diesel in it and connected a battery it should work.

Well if the fridge is starting and running you could sell that alright.

Ring around to some trcuk scrapyards. Some of them may buy it off you. Any of them I have met will hook it up and drive it down the road, they are a lawless shower!

Scrapping the fridge may be a specialist job for environmental reasons . I seriously doubt anyone will give you money
for it , more likely to charge you.
