Basically I am trying to sell my car. It is in brilliant condition but only had 2 calls. Neither showed up for viewing.

    <snip>

    Anything I could do?

    Anything I could do?

Firstly, this isn't the place for advertising so please don't put links up.

How long have you got it for sale? Give more details on the car without an ad and a few lines saying how great it is.

Oh sorry, never even crossed my mind it was advertising.

Basically car is a 2001 206 5 door just passed NCT and taxed to May. I am looking for 2k for it. Been up on adverts, donedeal & gumtree for 2 weeks now.

A link to the ad would prove useful in this case if thats what the OP is looking for feedback on

Other than that all I can say is good pictures and a clean description devoid of rubbish statements like 69mpg in everyday driving, handles like a fat lady in heavy seas and showroom condition even though its 10 years old and has been rear ended

Honest escription, well priced, good pictures and anything which the buyer may need to know such as tax/nct and service history

Might sound simple but have you

    : stated the milage

provided details of when it was serviced

when was the Timing belt and water pump changed or due

provided good photos of all angles of the car in good lighting because this does make a difference

compared the price of your car against others up for sale on adverts, carzone, gumtree etc... to ensure your car is priced appropriately for a private sale

Thanks for that. If you have a quick look at my adverts you might stumble across the add to have a look at photos etc to see what you think.

Inside of the car is generally very very good. Slip rip to the passenger seat but that's about it. Some minor scratches to the exterior and marks to bumper but it is 10 years old so has to be expected.

Just checked out the ad there and it seems detailed enough to me.

When was it last serviced and have you receipts?

Other than that interior pictures, pic of the engine bay and boot may help convince someone its clean.

Other than that all I can suggest is you drop the price and bump the ad

Will get photos of the inside now and upload them.

Last serviced in May. Timing Belt and Water Pump done at 54k. Will add that to the add. No receipts for the service as I did that myself. Brake Pads & flexi hoses were done 2 weeks ago. Again no receipts as the mechanic is firend of the family but I am sure I could get one no hassle. Just was in a rush to leave.

To be fair it's only been up for 2 weeks. Sometimes it can take a while to sell a car. If you are really desperate to shift it then you might have to adjust the price aggressively.

Edit: didn't see your advert specifically but there are quite a few 01 206s up on donedeal for under €2k so you might want to rethink the asking price.

I think its simply too expensive for a 10 year Peugeot.

Yep, two weeks to two months :)
One of the reasons garages give poorish trade in values on cars, they are charging you interest up front on the presumption they won't be getting rid of it tomorrow or the next day. I had a Celica for sale for 3 months a few years ago before anyone even viewed it.

Take at least 10 pics: inside and outside. All panels, stereo, cluster with mileage, back and front seats, tyres, ...

It really pi$$es me off when people just post a crappy evening pic and then wants 1000s of euros for it and when you ring they're like, "sure come over and see it".
"It's 3 hours drive over there you $%^&%! I need to know now..."
