Ok here we go I was at work today and I was talking to this guy and he was going on at how much the petrol has gone up and what the public can do to get the new goverment to cut the tax on fuel. So this is what he said, everyone in Ireland should STOP paying there road tax as the Gaurds can only do so much and if we all stop then it will give the goverment something to think about. Now I must say I dont agree in what this guy is saying so I said for the laugh i will ask my fellow bordies would say.rolleyes.gif

I was thinking that too but if people power took over there is not much they can do is there really. First of all they dont have the man power and there is only so many places to put cars i think it is a long shot but it might make them think are reducing taxes on other things like fuel and the usc tax.

It will mostly likely go up again. Ireland is one of the cheaper countries in the EU for petrol.

Normally I wouldn't even consider it, but your excessive use of italics makes a convincing argument.

Cutting the tax on fuel is it ?

Now theres a bright thought !

In a country where there is a deficit of 30 BILLION per year of income over expenditure.!

heres a much more realistic solution...get a smaller car and/or use fcuking public transport.

There's a fncking election. Tomorrow. I'm pretty sure if we all cast votes tomorrow, that'll "give the goverment something to think about".

Actually i used to have a 1.4 engine and it was using more petrol than the car i have now which is a 1.8 i v-tec cant understand why but thats how it is. I wonder why the country is 30 billion of INCOME over expenditure thats because of bailing out the banks other people getting paid to much for messing up our country! We all know who i am talking about.

Between car tax and road tax I don't know why I'm paying motor tax.
Anyway there's no point in cutting the taxes on fuel because the oil companies will fill the void. Better that the government gets that money than shell.
