rent allowance

    hi, was just wondering my brothers girlfriend is recieving rent allowance and lone parents, they have two children together my brother lives with my sister but she has recently had another child and there is no room in house for him anymore and he cannot live with my parents either, was wondering can the two of them go together and recieve rent allowance and just get one payment for them and the two children instead of her getting lone parents and my brother was let go from work about two weeks ago so he has applied for dole also, if they cannot do this what way does homeless benefits work. any info would be appreciated

    For sake of kids, i wouldnt do it. It would be very confusing for them and upsading knowing that daddy moved in just because he has nowhere else to live and that he will move out as soon as he will get job again.

    Regards benefits, they could claim as family, would get less rent allowance (that is- he wouldnt get any), rest of allowances are the same.

    I kinda believe, that if he will not have warm house to come back to, he will find job much quicker. But thats just my thought.
