€10k to spend on a new car, suggestions please??!

    Wondering if anyone can offer some good advice on what good second-hand cars are available in and around the 10k bracket.

    Cars im currently thinking of are the A3 (1.9TDI) and BMW(318i). Im leaning slightly towards the BMW but running costs can be quite high, especially now given the recent increases in petrol prices. Also need to consider Tax, insurance etc

    The lack of spec inside most of the BMWs ive looked at concerns me slightly. Also considering the 316 but the lack of power could be a problem, although as the car will be used for city driving not sure if this is a big issue?

    Mileage will be around 8000-10,000 miles a year. 2 litre would be the max engine size I’d consider
