Road racing is kicking off again for most people this weekend. First up is the Lacey Cup in Tralee. Not racing this myself, but thought I'd start a thread for anyone who is interested.

According to the Cycling Ireland calendar, it starts at 12:15 and sign-on is at KDYS on Denny Street, Tralee. Contact is Matt Lacey 0872258159/mattlacey50@hotmail.com. Race is 80km. Presume it's a handicap like previous years.

The Kerry Cycling blog describes the route as:
The route takes the riders on to Camp, then there is a prime at Gleann a Gealt for the Jackie O’Connor Trophy. It is on then to Annascaul where the riders will turn left just outside the village onto Inch, Castlemaine. Then another left turn and a prime at the top of the Sliabh Mish climb for the Teddy Griffin Trophy, before the descent to the finish at Skehanagh just outside the town of Tralee on the N70 (Tralee-Killorglin Road).

The's also a couple of races up north. I'm heading up to the Banbridge race. Being chased down by Ryan Sherlock is one hell of a way to be introduced to the world of road racing.

Will be pedalling this one for the first time in 4 years. Not sure what to expect but looking forward to it :)

I'm there just to finish off my winter training so I'll be having a bit of fun. If/when we catch the A3 group - expect the attacks straight away!

I'm looking forward to getting back to racing.

Is this the Phoenix GP lads? I can create a new thread for that one since folks here are racing it?
