    I read this morning that Medtronic are hoping to cut between 1500-2000 jobs worldwide. Any word will Galway be included in the cut or is this old news?

    I would not like any of our Big Medical Device Firms downsizing as they have done well to survive the in Galway so far.

    As far as I know Medtronic let go some contract staff recently. I don't know if they would be included in the figures above or whether those were the only cuts for Galway.

    A lot of the big fish from medtronic USA have been over here this past 2weeks,speculation of increased investment amongst employees Zi hope it's not the opposite.

    Hopefully they are over for investment. I know people working in the US or the Galway Plant doing a Product Transfer. I presumed it was a transfer of a poduct TO Galway. These companies are a huge importance to our City & County.
