Hi all, looking for some guidance/help. I've rented cars is Spain before by going through search engines etc and pre-booking, but when I get there and see what price I've paid I always promise myself I'll book direct next time. I used Solmar last time and found them quite good. Anyone have any other suggestions for Car rental companies in Malaga? I'll be needing a 7 seater size car. Thanks in advance !

I used http://www.malagacar.com/ and everything was grand, was last October and rented a Seat Leon for 90 Euro for week.... took out the excess policy on it too so total under 150 for week..... good thing i did as well cause i brought the car back like something from Tranes, Planes and Automobiles!

I used http://www.hispacar.com/ after reading good things about them online and found them a good outfit.

We also used www.malagacar.com last july, having read all the stories on Tripadvisor we were a bit wary. The whole experience was fab and we also took out the extra insurance which was 6 euros a day, I know many people strongly disagree with this but for us it gave us peace of mind. When we arrived back with the brand new Kangoo all we had to do was hand in the keys and walk away because of the extra insurance, all in all a very good experience with them. Also, when we were there last July Malagacar was one of only 2 companies I believe that operated the "half full return empty policy" so we paid 26 euros for a half a tank of Diesel and returned it very empty ! so make sure you check this out as many of our friends have got badly stung with the "full full" policy

We’re living in Malaga province and have our own car now, but at the start we used www.aurigacrown.com/ all the time. Always seemed to be the cheapest BUT July is just super expensive, I don’t think we hired any car that month as it just wasn’t worth it. So maybe you can find a better deal than them in July. Still, if that’s when you’re on holidays…
I think you’re better off paying the extra insurance. The one time we didn’t, the back wheels were robbed from the car and no amount of arguing over the finer details of the contract would get us our deposit back.

I've used Cargest a good few times. Prices are good, service excellent and there's no petrol rip off. Get it full and bring it back full. You don't pay for the juice upfront. Fully inclusive insurance is also very reasonable at about €20 per week.
